Updating Calibur

Keeping your Calibur setup up to date ensures you always get the latest features, the most stable connection, and the best fencing experience.

You can update two different parts of your system:

Apps (Software)

The Calibur app, Remote Controller app, and Relay Manager app running on your phone or tablet. Updating these gives you new features, fresh visual options, and better controls.

Firmware

The internal software that runs directly inside your hardware (your Pocket Box and Relay). Think of firmware as the "brain" of your devices. Firmware updates improve hit recognition, battery optimization, and hardware performance.

How to update your apps

Updating our apps is just like updating any other app on your phone or tablet:

Visit the App Store or the Google Play Store on your device.
Search for the app (Calibur, Calibur Remote Controller, or Calibur Relay Manager) and tap Update.

Tip: You can also enable automatic updates in your device’s store settings so you always run the latest version without checking manually.

How to update your firmwares

Firmware updates are done in just a few steps:

Pocket Box

Connect your Pocket Box to the Calibur app like always.
A pop-up notification will alert you if your firmware is outdated, simply tap Got it.
Then press the Firmware update button.
If the app asks if you want to download the update, select Yes.
Wait for the download to complete, tap Got it again, and you're good to go!

Relay

You can update the firmware running on your Relay using the dedicated Calibur Relay Manager app, available on both the App Store and Google Play.

Open the app and tap Connect Calibur Relay to pair your device.
If the screen shows that your current version is outdated, simply tap Load latest public firmware to install the newest update.
